Alpine rose bloom at the Tauferer Ahrntal
From mid-June to mid-July, hikers at the Tauferer Ahrntal and its side valleys are presented with a magnificent natural spectacle at a height of about 1,800 to 2,200 meters: Pink blossoms of alpine roses adorn the slopes and show that summer has also arrived in the higher reaches. Every year the beautiful and unique alpine roses (Rhododendron hirsutum) start blooming in the lower reaches around mid June. At the beginning of July, blooming starts in the higher reaches. You really need a little luck to be able to admire this natural spectacle. These alpine flowers radiate on our alp meadows for only about four weeks. If you are hiking up to the mountain pastures around that time, you can thoroughly enjoy the magic of this floral splendor!
