Location & directions

Travelling by car on the Brenner highway (A22):

Drive in the direction of South Tyrol. The fastest route is taking the Brennerautobahn (Brenner highway ‐ A22). From the exit Brixen/Pustertal, drive to Pustertal going towards Bruneck (SS49 ‐ E66).

Take the exit Bruneck WEST or Tauferer Ahrntal shortly before getting to Bruneck. Directly behind the exit, take the exit going in the direction of Bruneck or Ahrntal at the roundabout.

After about 1 kilometer, at the next roundabout, take the third exit going to Pfalzen/Tauferer Ahrntal. Follow the street for another kilometer and take the first exit at the next roundabout, going across the bridge. Drive 1.5 km to the next roundabout and take the third exit in the direction of Ahrntal. (*)

Follow the main road for about 18 km passing the villages St. Georgen and Gais all the way to Uttenheim. In Uttenheim, turn right across the bridge (see the map) and follow the signs. After about 400 m, you have reached the "Hotel Föstlerhof".

Travelling by car via Lienz in East Tyrol (A):

Cross the Austrian-Italian border, follow the state road (SS49-E66) and after approx. 37 km, take the right exit Bruneck-OST. Follow the road towards Ahrntal. You will pass 2 roundabouts – always stay in the direction of Ahrntal. At the third roundabout, take the first exit going to Ahrntal. Directions continued above (*)

Travelling with public transportation:

By train, you will travel the Brenner route to Franzensfeste (Fortezza). There you will have to change to the local commuter train to Bruneck. From Bruneck, take the public bus or a taxi to Uttenheim. We will be happy to arrange for a taxi from the train station to the hotel and back upon request!

Travelling by airplane:

There are regular flights to and from Bozen (90 km). Other nearby airports are in Innsbruck (114 km), Verona (232 km) and Treviso (205 km). You can obtain information in your travel agency.
